For our journey from Sydney down to Melbourne and further on, we rented a car, which took us to some of the most famous sites of Australia, and also to some lesser known, though not any less beautiful, places.
Between Sydney and Melbourne we stopped at the Blue Mountains NP, where the eucalyptus trees fill the atmosphere with tiny oil particles which, during sunrise, cause the whole landscape to glow in a dull blueish color. Unfortunately, during our time in the NP, there was a huge storm, which blew most of the oil particles out of the valley, so the blue glow wasn’t quite as intense as it should have been, but nevertheless, the camera saw it.
After Melbourne, we headed out to the Great Ocean Road, trekked to the most southern point of the Australian mainland, Cape Otway Lighthouse, and visited the twelve apostles just to get overrun by a downright biblical flood of tourist groups. We ended the day by experiencing the beautiful colors of an Australian sunset on the road.
