In summer 2017 I toured through Australia with my family. We first arrived in Sydney, where it actually was a lot warmer than we expected (we throught it would be similar to the Austrian winter, but it’s more like warm, sunny autumn days).
Sydney itself looks very pretty and polished, sadly withouth all the weird corners and rough edges I would expect from a city with such a history. Nowadays, you just don’t see that much of the original convict colony remains anymore, which I wished they would have kept. The only part of the city which kinda tried to preserve this grungy old look is the Rocks.
Nevertheless we had a great time strolling through the city and getting a first glimpse of the Australian way of life, enjoying semi-british street foods and the beautiful panoramic views in the harbor area.
