During my time in the States in 2016 I got to experience the 4th of July celebration in Park City, Utah. Coming from a country with rather low national pride (obviously for historical reasons), this day to me was complete madness.
While in Park City, we (the Austrian students) stayed at a hotel up in the ski resort, which our friend Matty checked for us. On the 4th, we headed into town to experience this once-in-a-lifetime (or once a year, depending who you ask) event.
It started out with an epic parade through the main street of Park City, afterwards we had a classic ‘murican BBQ at Matty’s place and to close off the day we went to see the fireworks. Of course, everything had to be photodocumented.
